Children Gap Ministries: Sundays 9:20 to 9:30 (Missions for Children)
We believe the Church should be a global body of believers, so we are working at helping our children to become more mission minded and see the world as a mission field, as well as, in their own backyard. To teach this, Children Gap Ministries meets for 10 minutes before Sunday School every week. During this time, stories are shared of children from around the world, different culture games are played, and information about different countries are shared. Making the children of AFC aware of the many cultures in the world. They are also shown the challenges along with the blessings of reaching these communities for Jesus Christ. The children are encouraged to discern the great need to live, share and demonstrate the love of God with boldness, understanding, and kindness to those without Jesus Christ. Also, there is a focus on remembering brothers and sisters in Christ around the world who are persecuted or struggling through prayer, support, and service projects.
Sunday School — Sundays 9:30 – 10:20
The Akron Foursquare Church Sunday School program allows children to be discipled in an age appropriate environment that encourages and nurtures their understanding of God’s Word and its application for their everyday lives. Sunday School is a valuable place where they can find fellowship, support, and acceptance from others and from God. The love of God is shared in a friendly setting that promotes a relationship with Jesus Christ instead of religion. A love for God is cultivated in the classrooms through teaching life changing Bible Stories in God’s Word and sharing the gospel of Salvation with each child who attends. To give the children examples of how to live for God wholeheartedly. Every two months, time is taken to highlight Heroes of the Faith. Heroes of the Faith teach the children about men, women, and children who chose to risk all for Jesus.
Children’s Church 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month -starting at 10:20 AM
Children’s Church is designed to foster in the children of AFC a vibrant, active, and enduring love for God and to become more missions minded. We believe that children of AFC should be taught to lead a life that is growing in understanding of who God is and how much He loves each of them. With this realization, we endeavor to encourage them in establishing a lifestyle that is dedicated to loving Him, to wholehearted commitment, and to passionate service for His Kingdom.
In Children’s Church, children learn important basics and tools of our Faith. They are engaged in a program (Faith Based) geared to them. Faith Cases promote gospel truths that strengthens a firm faith foundation for children. Fun worship, games, activities, and a lesson build in the children a deeper understanding of their relationship with Jesus Christ. The children are equipped with the tools to build a lifetime faith and the love to share with others.
GOSPEL BOXES are used in Kids of Courage as an outreach to the Philippines.
The Children’s Gospel Box ministry was born out of the huge need for children’s materials and training around the world. In many developing countries, children are either ignored or considered less important than adults. Some cultures even believe that children cannot find Jesus Christ. These literal boxes include everything a local church would need to either begin a Sunday School ministry or improve an existing one. It is also designed to promote and stimulate child evangelism and discipleship. One box contains enough evangelistic literature to reach 750 children.
