Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, and we have been actively involved with them for several years.

occlogoThe premise of this ministry is simple: gifts are given to children who have nothing. Love is shown to children who may not have known it before. And best of all, Christ is offered to as many as would receive Him.

Just as James 2:14-17 states, you can’t address somebody’s spiritual needs without also addressing their physical needs.

Operation Christmas Child understands this, and they have been sending boxes all over the world, from the United States and beyond, since 1993.

Akron Foursquare packs a large number of boxes each year. We shipped over 1000 boxes all over the world in both 2015 and 2016, and we’re not planning to slow down any time soon.

A large part of our process is our annual banquet, to raise both funds and awareness for the project. It’s a great time to get together for some excellent food, be surrounded by wonderful people, and learn about OCC. In recent years, we have had guest speakers who are tied closely with OCC, some of whom received a shoebox through the program when they were a child.

2017 Dinner Theatre and Fundraiser

This year, our annual fundraiser will be taking place on August 12, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the Washington County Event Center in Akron, Colorado. Rather than our regular dinner fundraiser, we’re going to be adding a dinner theatre this year.

Tickets for adults are $20 each, and children 9 and under are only $10. To order your tickets, you can contact:

Akron Foursquare Church at (970) 345-2783; or
